The Black & White Village
The trail was pioneered in 1987 by David Gorvett as a motorist's tour of the timeless Herefordshire villages between Leominster and Kington. In this book David Gorvett and Les Lumsdon provide a 62-mile trail for walkers in the same area, in nine sections. It starts and finishes in Leominster. In addition to the trail itself this guide includes short, circular walks starting from each village along the way.
All of the walks are suitable for the casual walker and families as well as the rambler seeking perhaps to cover more ground.
The route descriptions and maps in the text should be sufficient for the reader to negotiate the walks successfully, but for those who like reading maps, the walks can be followed using the Landranger sheets148 - Presteigne and Hay-on-Wye, 149 - Hereford & Leominster.
