Wye Valley Walk Offical Route Guide.
The Wye Valley Walk is 136 miles long, and follows the river valley from Chepstow in Monmouthshire to the slopes of Plynlimon in Powys, criss-crossing the border between England and Wales. The route starts off in the dramatic limestone gorge of the southern Wye Valley and then, after passing through Ross-on-Wye, traverses the more gentle countryside of Herefordshire, before entering the rugged uplands of Powys, in mid Wales. The walk is never very far from roads and houses although the settlements become smaller and more dispersed beyond Hay-on-Wye.
