A county of England, bounded on the W. and N. by Northamptonshire, on the N.E. and E. by Cambridgeshire, and on the S. by a part of Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. It extends 22 miles from N. to S. and about 18 from E. to W. The principal rivers are the Ouse and Nen. It is divided into 4 hundreds, which contain 5 market towns, 78 parishes, 279 villages, about 12000 houses, and upwards of 58,500 inhabitants......
